I have done that and it works perfect but then I have good 23" screen to work with

I use esfile explorer. As long as your pc is within a reasonable distance and the folders/files on it are gained access to share across your network you're good to go
Dont even need to install endless codecs or media players. Kodi can pretty much read and encode anything

Love Kodi but those movie/tv apps are all entirely wank
Server downtime + out of sync video/audio + constant buffering/stuttering/freezing
Sync the box with your pc and kodi will be able to encode and play almost every file type imaginable. Save yourself hours of frustration

Probably Wookie is the problem mate not the box. It's designed for dins and Wookie Lite for the thickest of all.
